FASCIAL RELEASE BODYWORK
WHAT IS FASCIAL RELEASE BODYWORK?
Fascial Release Bodywork is a gentle & extremely effective treatment for chronic pain, reduced mobility and releasing negative emotional holding patterns from the body. It recognises and works with the connection between our physical & emotional health allowing the client to heal at the deepest level.
In treatment, hands are placed directly on the skin, and a sustained, gentle pressure is applied into the body. The therapist feels into the connective tissue restrictions and facilitates change within the fascial network.

In cases where there is an emotional component, the techniques used allow them to process safely through the body. Its core belief is about meeting the body where it is and holding space for it to release in its own time, with compassion.
As a standalone treatment or alongside traditional talking therapies, this bodywork can be a powerful tool for clients allowing the body to process our lived experience.

WHAT DOES A BODYWORK SESSION
LOOK LIKE?
Your initial treatment will be 90 minutes. This will include a 20 -30 min consultation so we can discuss your medical history, ROM assessment if required & aims for the treatment. We will then lead into a 60 min bodywork session.
I use gentle holds on the body in targeted areas. Each technique is held for sometimes several minutes to allow the fascia to soften & release.
WHAT DOES THE CLIENT FEEL?
Every client is different and the effects vary from client to client. Some may feel very little, others may feel varying sensations of heat, areas that feel cold, pins & needles and referred pain which can indicate to the practitioner other areas of restrictions.

During the treatment I will check in with the client and if they are feeling sensations it is helpful for them to communicate these to me.

Fascia is a three-dimensional sheet of internal connective tissue in our bodies the covers everything; wrapping around muscles, bones, organs, vessels and the nervous system. It separates different layers of tissue, preventing friction, and has been likened to a cling-film that protects the various elements of your body. It is an integral part of the human body that is consistently adapting and helps us hold our shape

HOW DOES IT AFFECT ME?
When we become injured, the fascia becomes dehydrated and hardens, in some cases crystallises. This can cause restrictions in the body which can cause pain, discomfort and range of movement issues.
